1. The Rent

Admitting you're upset is as forgiving as the ups and downs of war
A trial by fire from a jury for hire, and what for?
A chance at believing that it bared repeating
That all that you needed was there by your feet
And if they could just see it, then maybe you'd think it was true too
But Satan is listening
He's out there and bristling at the thought of supply and demand
The cancerous idea that we're all getting got
I'm jaded, but aided by all that we've created
This empire of hated we'd hate to see wasted
We've signed and we've dated the rent that's been long overdue
